Talk About Frustrating!

September 1st marked my "I'm back to being a full-time writer" phase of life.
What made it fun is that I had two major conferences - American Christian Fiction Writers and Novelists, Inc., almost immediately. In fact, this week has been my first week home for the entire week since it all began!
As you know, I finished Love Makes Way and handed it off to Gregg, my first editor (and amazing hubby). As we were driving to NINC conference and reading it out loud to each other, we realized that there is something just wrong with the book. As exciting as the entire Love and Honor series has been, the end of this fifth book was just, well, boring.
So, we started brainstorming ways to fix it. AND FIGURED IT OUT! WOOT!
However, it required a moderate rewrite throughout and a complete scrapping and rewrite of the last five chapters PLUS about three more chapters added.
So, we rescheduled the preorder to October 24th.
For those of you who are not in the indie author writing world, this was the second time I rescheduled this book's preorder, and that meant that I will no longer be allowed preorders on Amazon for a year. But, giving you the best book possible with the most exciting story is WAY more important than being able to have preorders for a year (even though in the next year I plan on releasing at least 4 more books -- but I digress).
So, I went into my dashboard, changed the date, accepted the terms of surrender, and hit publish. I my mind, it was done.
Until this past Saturday, when I woke up to an email that said that my preorder was cancelled because I didn't upload the files in time for a September 30th release, the book is wiped off of Amazon, and all of my customers have been notified.
*sigh*
I don't know what happened on their end. I know everything was good on my end. But I also know that I've traveled about 3,000 miles in 3 weeks, talked to dozens and dozens of people, taught several classes, and worked on revamping a book that I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED ABOUT RELEASING.
So, if there was a problem on my end, I missed it.
If you preordered from Amazon, I am sincerely sorry for the email you received. I cannot put up another preorder there for a year (if ever - I still need to call them). If you only purchase from Amazon, you can follow me at this link https://www.halleebridgeman.com/on_amazon and they will notify you when the book releases.
Or you can just open the emails you get from me because in a few weeks it will be released.
Or, you can preorder from me or any other supplier at this link: https://halleebridgeman.com/pages/love-makes-way
I'm very sorry, kind of annoyed, and a little embarrassed. But I am so excited about this book and cannot wait for you to read it - on October 24th!
U.S. Army Special Forces sniper Gerald “Jerry” McBride is no stranger to danger, but his heart faces uncharted territory when he reconnects with surgical nurse Olive Duncan. Years after she patched his wounds in a German hospital, their chance reunion at Fort Campbell sparks a romance the sweeps both of them off their feet. When Jerry invites Olive as his plus-one to a friend’s wedding on a Caribbean cruise, he’s ready to take the leap with a ring in his pocket.
But the ship’s idyllic voyage hides a deadly undercurrent. A Chinese-backed plot to smuggle thousands of weapons into Haiti threatens to destabilize the region, and the pirates orchestrating it have infiltrated the crew.
When the pirates take the cruise ship with Jerry's special forces team on board, it turns the wedding venue a celebration into a battlefield.
They have no weapons and no gear. Can they take back the ship and save the people they love, or will celebration turn to tragedy?
