| WHAT a week it was last week! Gregg and I were in Colorado for the Family Christian Fiction Book Fest in Colorado Springs. My brother and his family live in Aurora, so I took the opportunity to spend some time with them.It was a wonderful visit. Right up until… (Let me set the scene. My brother’s cat had appointed himself guardian of the stairway up to the bedrooms. Over the week he’d already attacked my aunt, her hubby, AND my Gregg. Apparently I was next on the list.) He went after my bare feet and bit my leg.The next morning, we packed up and headed for Colorado Springs. Somewhere on that drive I thought, Why am I feeling so lousy? By the time we got there, I had a fever and body aches, and my leg hurt SO bad. When I got out of the car, I saw it was swollen and red all the way around, and my calf muscle hurt in a major big way. Urgent Care sent me to the ER. The ER doc admitted me. And I spent the next two nights enjoying excellent medical care in one of University of Colorado’s hospital. |

| They released me Sunday afternoon, and then Gregg and I did our 20-hour drive home. (Gregg also had to go represent me at the book festival. I was so sad to miss it.) What a crazy end to the week! Now we’re headed out to the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference. I’m excited to see my friends… but, honestly? I am looking forward to not so much travel in a few weeks! |
Thank you!

Oh my goodness!!! How awful! So thankful you could get medical help right away and that they actually admitted you. That way they could treat you completely, not just hand you some antibiotics & send you on your way.
I thoroughly enjoy your books & pass them along to 5 others, when I’m finished.
I’ll be praying for complete recovery from your unfortunate incident. BTW, does the cat still live with your brother???
