I have two recipes for sugar cookies that I use. This one is the one I use for holidays, for rolling out and cutting into shapes and frosting with buttercream frosting or cookie icing. They are PERFECT because they are hardly sweet at all, a perfect complement to the frosting.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Cake
I made this cake for Gregg’s birthday this year to change things up a bit. This was an amazing flavor: it tasted just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but in the form of a cake! It’s very simple.
Ambrosial Buttercream Frosting
I am complimented constantly on my frosting. I use it on cakes and cookies regularly. If you don’t have a stand mixer, it takes a little bit of time and work, but it is SO worth it.
Gregg’s Happy Birthday Red Velvet Cake Roll
I made this for Gregg’s birthday this year. He took it to work with him, and said it didn’t last six minutes before it was all gone. The cream cheese filling tasted amazing, and Gregg said the whole thing was absolutely wonderful.
Peachy Overnight French Toast
I made this to take to church for breakfast for my Sunday School class. It was really good and required no syrup for serving. I made it the evening before, popped it into the oven 30 minutes before we had to leave for church, and was able to serve it still warm to my class.
Spicy Lamb Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
Spicy lamb meatballs with pine nuts in tomato sauce, also known as Daoud Pasha. This recipe was wonderful. I served it with Moroccan Saffron Rice with Dried Fruits and Nuts.
Quick & Easy Pumpkin Cheesecake
This recipe intrigued me. I don’t normally use box cake mixes, but having a cheesecake with a box mix as a base really made me want to try to see how it turned out. It was very good!
Moroccan Rice with Dried Fruit and Nuts
Also known as Roz bi Saffran. I modified this recipe to be able to make it with what I had on hand; I didn’t keep saffron in my cupboard, but I had a package of saffron rice. I am posting the recipe as I made it, so that I can be confident that you’re getting a good recipe that I’ve tried out.
Italian Ground Beef Skillet
This is a quick pasta sauce that every member of our family will love. The kale is a wonderful source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as omega 3 and omega 6, and you can use any kind of pasta you want when making this dish.
Tex-Mex Ground Beef Skillet
Chili-Mac is one of my kids’ favorite dinners, and I love how this is served over cornbread instead of sloppy-joe style over hamburger buns. This is a very quick, easy to make meal, especially if you’re using leftover cornbread.
