Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, venison)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can diced green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Method

  1. Put ground meat and onion in a frying pan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  3. Drain. Do not drain your meat in your sink. I drain mine into a heavy ceramic bowl and allow it to cool before putting it in the garbage can.
  4. Add the diced green chilies and the spices.
  5. Cook and stir until thoroughly heated.
