My kids love homemade pizza. They do not enjoy typical takeout or deli pizzas at all. This crust is just right and makes the pizza as good as it is.

Delicious Chicken and Brown Rice Casserole
This dish is one of my daughter’s favorites. She gets excited whenever she sees it on the menu. This is amazing comfort food.
Hearty Beef Stir Fry
My family loves this dish. It’s so full of fresh vegetables and good vitamins. Serve it with white rice or brown rice and Chinese noodles; we even buy little boxes of fortune cookies to make dinner festive.
Greek Style Potato Stew
The Orthodox Greeks enter partial fasts as part of their religious practices, and this recipe is one that’s handed down and common among Greek families. It is perfect for a Daniel Fast and for Lent. The blend of the olives with the seasonings is so perfect, and will create a new comfort food that is sure to be a new family favorite.
Basic Homemade Kamut Pasta
Homemade pasta is so easy a four-year-old can do it, and I find the nutrition well worth the extra time. I use Kamut, a brand name of khorasan wheat; it has a higher protein content than wheat, which is why I like it for my pasta. This is my basic pasta recipe.
Vegetarian Fajitas
These fajitas are a wonderful flavor explosion in your mouth. Even my family doesn’t complain about the lack of meat. No meat and no dairy make them a perfect meal for a Daniel Fast or during Lent, and they’re something new to do with all of that zucchini from the garden.
Greek Stuffed Vegetables with Rice (Yemista me Ryzi)
This is an amazing recipe for making something new and different with all of that fresh produce coming out of the garden. You are getting such a wide variety of fresh vegetables, all kinds of good-for-your-body vitamins and minerals, and it’s something different from the standard sautéing that I tend to do as a default.
Greek Meatless Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Rice (Lahanodolmathes Orphana)
The word “orphana” means “orphaned,” and in Greek cooking usually means a dish that can be made with meat but in this case is made without. Cabbage is a favorite winter food, and this meatless recipe is delightful and a Lenten favorite, delicious as a main dish or made into small rolls for a side dish, buffet table, or appetizer. Because of the lack of meat, this dish is perfect for Lent or a Daniel Fast.
Secret Ingredient Taco Salad
This is a family favorite. It’s a very quick, inexpensive meal that can feed several people. The secret ingredient makes this dish fall into the absolutely-not-so-healthy category, but oh, it makes it taste so good.
Tasty Veggie Wraps
When I did the Daniel Fast last year, I added an extra restriction to myself in that I wouldn’t eat anything with leavening in it. Consequently, I lived on veggie wraps for lunches. They were so filling, and the avocados helped fill me up.
